3D Scanning
3D Scanning is the process of taking a physical model and using lasers or whitelight measure thousands or million of points. These points accurately capture the objects shape and gives us a digital representation.
3D Scanning Uses
3D scanners are used for many applications from creating or recreating new designs, storing historical data, or generating CAD or old parts that have none. 3D scanning is fast, efficient, and accurate. The data can be used for things such as:
- 3D modeling
- Mechanical design
- Clay model digitizing
- Tooling & jigs development
- Maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO)
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Our 3d scanners are portable, so we can scan your item at your facility or ours, it can work in confined places, uses self position targets so moving the part is not an issue, and the RevScan has accuracy of up to 0.002" with a resolution of 0.004" in the Z.
3D scanning can help you measure parts generate CAD, improve quality, generate files for Rapid Prototypes just about anything you need digitized can be done.
